I’ve come to love these types of rims, but I don’t know what they’re called.
I know the above are Zender Turbo 2s, but I don’t know what the style is called. While I like these, Im interested in a much Deeper concave.
I’d like to have something more akin to the rims found Audi GTO. While I know that they are not made anywhere, I like the depth and overall shape.
I’ve found on forums that the style is called “Air Blades” but when I look up Airblade rims all I get is this:
Which is not what I want at all...
Any insight into these types of rims would be greatly appreciated.

Directional Rims, if those arrows are going the wrong way something could come apart!

TURBO 2*

They’re not really wheels, what you’re wanting is actually a cover. The generic name is turbo fans but you’re going to be paying a premium if you can’t fab them yourself.

Turbine wheels I think

Ronal made a set of TURBO’s even

Did somebody say RONAL?

Thank you!
They are exactly the type of rims I was looking for. Sadly I won’t be able to afford that price...

my ‘81 Trans Am Turbo had the same type of Turbo wheels

I’ve always called such styles “turbines”, because that’s what BMW calls these, though they’re really just covers on an equally sexy 5-spoke wheel.
I had a set of 16x9 Ronal Turbos for my old Ur-quattro, they were beautiful but I let them go with the car.

Just need some pizza boxes and duck tape.

Did they have a purpose? The only thing I can think of is that it might help cool the brakes if you are blowing air on them.

Yeah they are way too much for what they are, one day I’d like to give fabbing up a set out of 505 stainless a shot, but they’d have to precision made to be even decent, hence why I got the poor mans turbo fans
these are the best ones though,

That’s the main purpose of most of them. Some are actually designed to pull air out from under the car increasing downforce. I imagine effects are minimal but that is some pretty ingenious engineering.

Yep Turbine wheels. For brake cooling and doing cool things to tire smoke

I have nothing to add but this cool shot of a turbo fan wheel I shot a while ago

It’s a cover? You actually just blew my mind.

I’m actually a huge fan of the 935K rims you posted up top. Apparently there’s even a company who makes pseudo-Replicas (they look like them but they’re somehow better?)
However they cost $1.8k. I’d rather invest in some coilovers. (However I will tirelessly try to hunt down some used ones)

Most are. A few are not, such as the first ones in Quattros original post.

Just check the Web now and then, I have seen a really plain but well made set on ebay, I don’t recall the price but I do remember being disappointed they had already sold.

I know that the OZ Racing rally wheels from the 90s are also not. We were looking at a set for my dad’s GT-Four.

If my ‘81 still had those rims when I bought it, it’d be running round with a turbo hood and probably a 301 turbo still. Sadly, all that came with the car were 7” snowflakes the PO swapped out for.

My ‘81 had the Turbo 301 swapped out with a regular Chevy 350. I think it had something like 225/70/15

My ‘81 was a Turbo Special Edition... at one point... by the time I got it it had a low power Chevy 350 and had most of its special edition stuff stripped off it.
